The show-stopping, Mahajaran Sarouk was chosen to represent our traditional carpets in our latest ad, seen in, ‘New England Home Magazine CT’.  This piece is as good as it gets when it comes to this era!  The startling beauty of this piece will literally stop you in your tracks!  The antique Mahajaran Sarouk measures 4.3 x 6.9.

This level of detail required the rug to be finely knotted (note: front and back photos of carpet).  The back and front of the carpet are perfect mirror images of each other due to the vast amount of fine detail.  It was hand-knotted in the Ferreghen district of Western Persia, around 1915.  Despite it’s age, this antique Sarouk is in impeccable condition.

At Kebabian’s, we are committed to maintaining the integrity of the Oriental rug industry.  Part of our mission is to educate the public about these beautiful works of art that are created for both the eye and the foot.

The perfectly balanced design of the richly detailed antique Mahajaran Sarouk,  produces a calming effect.  The medallion or ‘window to heaven’, appears to be floating peacefully in a deep blue sea.  The main border has both simple and intricate, stylized floral elements.  The inner field’s quadrants are exquisite. The Mahajaran Sarouk’s beauty begs to be seen & walked on.  Bare feet will welcome the velvety soft wool!

This work of art will bring sophistication to an entryway, a peaceful and happy landing for your feet when you crawl out of bed in the morning or a touch of elegance to the living room.

This lovely Sarouk has given beauty and grace to a home for almost a century and is ready to start its next journey for many more years to come.  The full ad can be viewed under the, ‘AS SEEN IN’, section on our website, along with all of our previous ads.
